Meet Dr. Kaner


Dr. Charles Kaner has devoted his career to providing high quality care while maximizing patient comfort and cosmetics.  He is constantly updated in new technologies by partaking in 100-200 hours of continuing education courses in advanced training yearly.

Dr. Charles Kaner is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology which is a recognized specialty of the American Dental Association.  A Diplomate is a periodontist who has made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty of Periodontology.  What it means to you as a patient is that Dr. Kaner has been examined by a panel of internationally respected peers and awarded Diplomate status.  This is one of the highest recognitions of achievement afforded by the specialty.  For more information on what it required to be a Diplomate,  visit the American Board of Periodontology site.

Dr. Charles Kaner graduated from Temple University Dental School after obtaining a B.S degree at Brooklyn College.  Thereafter, he completed his graduate training in periodontology at New York University Dental School.  He currently is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Mount Sinai Hospital, an Assistant Clinical Professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and has been the Chief of the Periodontal Department at Mount Sinai Hospital since 1990.  He previously held positions of Assistant Clinical Professor at St. Vincent’s Hospital and as Clinical Instructor at NYU and Temple University Dental Schools.  In addition to his private practice and hospital commitments, he lectures both nationally and internationally on periodontics and implant surgery.

Dr. Charles Kaner provides his services as an expert consultant to dental insurance companies, many law firms, brokerage houses, police and fire departments.  He is frequently asked to be an expert witness in cases regarding periodontics and implants.
